Our own live version of Monster Chiller Horror Theatre- freakshow extraordinaire Carnival Diablo - celebrates seven years of gobsmacking and grossing out even the most intrepid with a marathon performance April 1 at the Reverb.

Diablo ringmaster Scott McClelland allows that while this show will be lighter on the gore factor than usual{no Impaling, apparently}. he is trucking an assortment of freaks from across the country, among them Montreal Swordswallower Istvan Betyar, who will attempt to ingest a two foot long corkscrew sword, Calgary escapologist Ryan Madden, adding the ever important Human Dart-board and electric chair segments to the set, and Calgary transplant and "insectivore" Newt. She'll be the one chowing down on the bugs.

In all, McClelland reckons Carnival Diablo will blaze through 28 amazing feats April 1, which will serve as the troupe's final local gig of 99. So skip dinner, drink modestly and go!
